How to Read Betting Odds Formats
Malaysian players will come across various odds formats on sports betting sites. Understanding each format helps you make more informed betting decisions.
Malay Odds (Malaysia Odds)
Malay Odds use positive and negative numbers. A positive value shows the profit for every RM1 staked, while a negative value shows the amount you need to stake to win RM1.
Stake: RM10 | Winnings: RM10 × 0.85 = RM8.50 profit → Total received: RM18.50
Hong Kong Odds (HK Odds)
Hong Kong Odds are similar to fractional odds but expressed in decimal form. They represent the net profit for every RM1 staked.
Stake: RM10 | Profit: RM10 × 1.75 = RM17.50 → Total received: RM27.50
Indonesian Odds (Indo Odds)
This format is similar to Malay Odds in terms of positive/negative values, but the scale differs. A positive value means profit per RM1 staked, and a negative value means the stake required to win RM1.
Stake: RM10 | Effective stake: RM10 / 1.20 = RM8.33 profit → Total received: RM18.33
Decimal Odds / European Odds (Decimal Odds)
The most straightforward format — multiply your stake by the odds to get the total amount received (including your original stake).
Stake: RM10 | Total received: RM10 × 2.50 = RM25.00 (net profit: RM15)
